@cavey2009 Unfortunately, that's probably a very likely statistic. I've had someone in my family be a victim of abuse, unfortunately from parents & again later in life from a boyfriend. Thankfully, my sister's in a much better relationship and happily married with two beautiful daughters. Beiber just isn't my cup of tea though; every time I turn on the radio, I hear him over played & I can't stand it any more. Besides, I'm more into rock than pop; it's just not as good to me as it was years ago

@cavey2009 It's cool. I agree though that Justin Beiber at least knows the right way that people should treat their partner. People who abuse their partners, either physically by beating them or emotionally by cheating on them or mentally by screaming at them or what have you, DO need to actually pay attention to his songs and others like them. "Knows more about love than half of America" just feels a little exaggerated to me; I think at the very least a little more than half are above abuse.

@Halo101st Not really, I just dont think there's anything wrong with women having sex with many people. Swing was largely a reaction to some (in my opinion) pretty low moral standards of the 30-40's. I think todays swing movement is different though. It is to a certain degree a part of the retro movement, which is more about the amazing dance itself, the clothes and the music than views on how much sex women have a right to have or not have.

Often misrepresented as "Hollywood" ( two different styles); this style, like West Coast, is done on the slot to maximize the dance floor. The style you see Frankie doing up is Savoy style, which allows for pauses and more flash on counts 7&8, most lindy hoppers do a more Savoy style. Dean Collins only has a few hold outs in TX, CA, and WA. (also, "East Coast Swing" is merely meant to be a transition not a whole style)

I don't think this is BBVD (the instruments have a weird tuning that I've never heard BBVD use before, and it sounds like this band is bigger than BBVD, since they only have one of every instrument.), but the song is Sing, Sing, Sing. I have a few different versions of it, although this is definitely my favorite.

i love how they did this all with chalk, mustve taken em forever to wash it off then redoo most of it, then make him move along with it and also take the pictures at the right moments to make it look like its moving. and this all taken from a roof top so imagine how hard it was for the chalk drawing ppl to know where they were drawing and if it was in the right place :D crazy, id admire them so much :)

Ah- I see. I think it is more of her producer's fault, though. I can't say that I'm completely correct about this, but I don't think that Georgia is a very popular artist, so Hyori wouldn't have known about her owning this song. I don't personally know Hyori, but I don't think she would resort to doing something that would jeopardize her career. I've read somewhere that they stopped promoting the album, so hopefully, the two will settle an agreement and things will be fine.

@FormerTVAddict Well the tap step is single step, as I view it, you are just doing something with your free foot that's in the air during the "slow". While the triple is more challenging, it feels great doing to slow tunes like "Easy Does It" by Count Basie, but I personally feel it really doesn't come into it's own until around 175 bpm. This is the average tempo where most swing dance tunes sit and the triple step fells right. Watch some clips featuring Dean Collins to see why.

@FormerTVAddict I actually find that not teaching the triple step right off the bat will actually hinder a beginners abilities later on, because they'll develop bad habits. I explain that if the music is too fast for them to do triple steps, they can do single steps, but the feeling of dancing to the music really comes from the triple steps. But there is no law saying that triple steps have a tempo limit. The only limiting factor is the individual's ability.

@lindyhop411 Single-time swing may be simplistic but it is very appropriate for teaching beginners, as long as you teach them to correctly time it to the music, once a dancer has the proper timing and basic patterns then I would focus more on rhythmic accents and motion which could be helped by doing the double or triple time.

@lindyhop411 how I learned the terminology, single is: step, step, rock step. double is: touch-step, touch-step, rock step (or kick-step kick-step rock step). triple is doing the full triple-step with all 3 weight changes, better for the slower music, and I typically don't like to dance it to the slower music (< 160 BPM) but if I have to I will take all the triples. I like double best because at least you keep moving, I agree with you that single-time can feel kind of flat and dead.

@FormerTVAddict That's kind of like asking why someone has to do three cha-chas when someone does the cha-cha. The essence of swing is the syncopated rhythm played on the drums (1 a2, 3 a4, etc.). The triple step is where this comes from. The single step is a vary simplified version of east coast swing. You can certainly do it, but like I said, it's simple, and you are missing the rhythm and feel of the dance. By "double time", do you mean you are dancing twice as fast?

@Jespertichelaar It is hand drawn on the street but the superman bit with the view over the city makes me think it was fleshed out completely in preproduction. To the point that the animation might have been completely made then large stencils were created from that. Not for everything but the buildings bit is a bit too precise in 3D for created on the fly. If I'm wrong kudos to the artist for being able to draw perfect 3D shit on the fly. Now that's a skill ...

Yea this album is original and musically better than 99% of most other stuff around in 2010, but I was really dissapointed with it compared to the first 3 albums. Like really disapointed. I dont like the new choice of lead vocalist. Also most of the songs on Yeah Ghost are too "full on" or "not enough happening" in my opinion. Biggest dissapointment of 2010 for me. Bring back Sia and Tina Dico!

@MyNameIsMrW For the most part what every you perceive it to be. I think it's saying how you don't need money and mansions to be happy, or have fun in life. Friends, love and being happy with what you have is all life amounts. So enjoy it and don't look for a high paying stressful job look for a nice comfortable job you can live off happily, but being merely 14, i could always be wrong.
